Course Description:
This course enable participants to learn about the use of the Stop /
Slow Bat.
At the completion, successful
participants will receive a certificate of training and a laminated
card usually referred to as a Blue Card (Work Activity Training)
This will enable the holder to
undertake work involving traffic control using bats, and to use radio
communication with other team members.
What to bring:
- A
good attitude! Remember you will be dealing with the general public.
- Safety Shoes, or as a minimum, fully enclosed footwear (no
high heels)
- If you have your own safety vest bring
this, but we have these anyway.
- Your Drivers Licence as proof of ID, or
another form of Photo ID.
- Also desirable is your WorkCover NSW
Induction Card (Green Card)
- Note that you will need a Green Card prior to undertaking
actual Traffic Control work.
What to expect on the day:

A photo of each participant will be
taken on the day (for the Blue Card)
- Morning - Theory and test (note that a high mark will be
required in order to pass)
- Afternoon - Practical Test and Assessment
of Competency
(Stopping Traffic, Starting Traffic and using radios)
