Ensuring your staff and customers can safely exit a dangerous environment - whether it's a fire or spillage - is part of your obligation as an employer.

Many dangerous situations can be avoided by ensuring your exit lighting systems are in working order to provide
an easy escape route in the event of an accident.

In addition to electrical appliance testing, ETS can also provide periodic inspection and testing to your emergency lighting systems to provide you with the peace of mind that your school, business, or commercial site is complying with the code.
 

 

By having the Emergency Exit lights on your premises Inspected, tested and data managed by ETS your company will be:
 
Fulfilling its obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2000. As per Australian Standard AS 2293.

Demonstrating your commitment to a safe workplace.

ETS conduct a 6 monthly and yearly procedure to ensure that the Australian Standard is being met.

The first step is to barcode all Emergency light fittings for tracking and data management procedures.
 

Emergency Lighting - 6 Monthly Testing Procedures
Make sure there have been no power interruptions for 16hrs prior to test.
Check fluoro lights for blackened ends, if found, tube and starter is replaced.
Manual discharge test (simulated power failure) light must stay illuminated for no less then 90 minuets.
Restore light to normal condition and check that the battery charger operation indicator functions correctly.
Automatic discharge test. Check unit operates correctly (visually) by the means of the indicator at each unit or indicator panels.
Units that FAIL shall be replaced or repaired.
For indirect lighting systems, check that all reflective surfaces around the light are in a good condition and that beam lights do not shine in people’s eyes.
   
Emergency Lighting - 12 Monthly Testing Procedures
   
Carry out the above 6 monthly testing and inspection procedures.
Clean all light emitting and reflecting surfaces.
Record all test results and action taken.
